It is not the critic who counts: not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better. Conan O’Brien 's commencement speech to the Harvard University graduating class of 2000 was, of course, hysterical, but it was also uplifting and encouraging. I share this with you in the hopes that you might find it as inspirational as I did. If not you might at least get a good laugh.
Is Making a film an art or a craft? The artist often doesnt know what he is creating until it's finished. The craftsmen, on the other hand, usually does know - otherwise he wouldn't begin to work. The artist is thus the more daring of the two because he has to plunge into ambiguity, uncertainty, and darkness. It is, in fact, the quality of daring that distinguishes all artists, whatever their medium. This does not mean the artist need not be a skilled craftsman - most of them are - it means that art goes beyond craft.
My first web series started out as a sit com pilot and then became a web series. I lost a bunch of footage while working on this project. Tragic. I shot it all in New York. Then moved to Los Angeles soon after. I decided to piece what I had together and make a little sit com stew.
My SECOND web series, CATCH, is a dark comedy. it's a little bit DEXTER, a little bit SERENDIPITY. ALIEN VS PREDATOR. FREDDY VS JASON. MR BROOKS playing golf with MR & MRS SMITH.

Here are two websites that have free downloadable Sound Effects for film editing, theatre, etc. You get what you pay for, so you have to dig a lot through this free stuff to find good FX, but there are definitely some gems in there.
